Hello People.
Well, summer is coming to an end.
My Favorite Year has opened and closed. It was one of the fastest running shows I have ever experienced. It literally felt like it all went by in a day! What I learned from this show, or really, what it has reinforced in me is that being a part of the ensemble is just as hard as being a principle. I was part of the “Crew” in this show, and it truly was one of the most challenging and most rewarding experiences I have had on stage. I was almost always onstage either moving a set piece or being engaged in a scene. It was never a dull moment for me. I also got to work with a great cast!
One Acts went over wonderfully this year. Everyone did a great job! I was very proud of my actors (shout out to my tree on their Harry Award!) and my scene as a whole. It was simply beautiful and it got praise from many. I hope there will be another incarnation of The Giving Tree at One Acts in the future
Danceret or Caberance Troupe has also passed. I personally had the time of my life in that process, and wished we had more opportunities to perform it. I had the chance to explore all the different types of music amongst many talented people (GOTW!). On the actual performance, every performer had their A game on, and it made for an amazing product. Eric, Kevin, and Jeff (the directors) did a splendid job combining the two events this year. It will surely be even better next year!
So in essence, that was Upper Darby Summer Stage 2008! This summer, as usual, I made new friends and got closer to some old, but it was different in the sense that this was my last summer being one of the younger people. Next Summer, I and many of my friends will be “that” group of OLDER people. I know it sounds kind of ridiculous, but its true. For the longest time, and still today, I look up to that older generation and admire their spirit and talent. Now I feel like I will step into that role. It just really hit me today that I will be 21 next summer, and it will be my 8th consecutive summer at summer stage. I look at all the people I’ve met, all the opportunities I’ve had to improve myself and my craft on and off stage, all the memories I’ve made at the UDPAC that have made me the person I am up to this point, and it brings me so much happiness. It makes me realize how fortunate I am. All these memories really add to the fact that this was my favorite year at summer stage.

Okay, that was a sapfest! I know! Moving On…
I’m moving into my dorm in a week! WHAT!!!!!!!!!!???!?!?!?!?
It is absolutely crazy that junior year is starting up. I still have so much to pack, read, memorize. I have friends to hang out with, starbucks dates to be had, final sales to indulge in, and parties to partay! AHHG!
Obviously, I am not taking it all in stride. Not only am I not ready to get back into that part of my life, but i am definitely not ready to leave my friends back at home. That is always one of the hardest parts about going back to college. But I suppose I can’t stop time and what not, so time to accept it?
gah.
I’ve been packing and making lists for about a week now. Its crazy every time, that is, trying to pack for college. For some reason, there’s more to bring each year. Maybe I’m a hoarder? eh.

BREAK!
I say PATTI LUPONE in GYPSY!!!!!! It was absolutely amazing! I was astonished and left speechless (in the front row!) She pretty much sang Rose’s Turn to Me. Watch this video to see the recap.

So college, I don’t know. I’m going to keep packing an see what happens. The next time I blog should be when I’m all moved in and after auditions. I’ll post a new Youtube Obsession along with this post so feel free ( by free, I mean “the need”) to check it out.
Out like Ellen
