Memoirs of a Gaysian

Only in New Yoooo-rk. WOW.

Hello People.

This is a very intense blog…in a good way. Its filled to the brim with amazingness!

First things first. Since the last time I Blogged at you, I was cast in Gilbert and Sullivan’s THE MIKADO. I play Nanki-Poo and I totally think you should come see me, especially if you’re able too and you’re a friend of mine. It opens on Oct 16th through Oct 26th @ DeSales University (http://desales.edu/default.aspx?pageid=48). Rehearsal are going well, but I am nowhere near having this character down perfect. Its a process, and I just need to keep working.

*Note to self and other people: Gilbert and Sullivan is no day in the park. It is a beast of piece.*

Alrighty,
so on Sunday, September 21, 2008, a friend and I went to NYC for the Broadway Flea Market, [Title of Show], and meeting up with some friends along the way. Let me say, it was one the BEST days I ever had, sans the tedious driving through Bumble F*&% and obnoxiousness on the train.

Once again, I had the pleasure meeting Norm Lewis, I got to meet Seth Rudetsky (www.sethrudetsky.com), and the cast of [Title of Show]. Luckily for ya’ll, I have an awesome (shaky) V-Blog! so watch it….

NOW:

**** Update*****

I totally forgot to mention the Celebrities i met//stalked//bumped into:

- Norm Lewis!
- Cast of [Title of Show]
- Stalked Bebe Neuwerth….don’t judge me.
- Seth Rudetsky!
- Andrea Burns… ibumped into her and i freaked out! She smiled awkwardly and i was like speechless…direct quote “andrea Burns? um…Andrea burns!” and cue awkward smile…
- Project Runway cast member from season 3…his name? Malan?  I stared and then bumped into him…twice.
- and in a parade passing me by…. Laura Benanti, Boyd Gaines, Robin De Jesus, Aaron Lazaar, Kerry Butler, Michael Beresse, and telly leung!
***end update***

Sadly, I forgot to whip out the flip when i met Seth but i got a picture with him! ( not flattering of me at all…)

Here are some other highlights of the day in Picture form:

We ate his cookie…yea.

totally want that Die Vampire Die jacket!

What a [TOS]ome//awesome day, right?!

So, some of you might know, if not, now you do. [Title of Show] is apparently closing on October 12, 2008! If you love this show, do as the show says, tell 9 people! A bit exaggerated, but hopefully this Blog does reach 9 million people! go to www.Titleofshow.com to learn more about the show, get tickets, get tickets, get tickets! It is a beautiful show that captures so much about theatre, theatre people, and just life in general. It deserves a place on the Great White Way. We, as [TOS]sers, need to help make that happen!

Okay kiddies, I’m done for the night. It is way late, and I still need to read and do hw…. yup. Hopefully I will find time between rehearsal, scenes, directing and work to post in the Youtube Obsessions page! Keep checking!

Peter

PS: yeah, I know that was random. I totally meant to talk about voting in this post, but not so much…. so politics got a little tag at the end.

Hello People.

Well as the title says, I am back in (Center) Valley and loving it. I moved in about a week and a half ago, and my room is as they say “off Da’ Hizzle!”

I’m thinking this going to be an awesome year. I’ve reconnected with friends, made some new ones, and there is something refreshing in the air (not the frickin’ pollen).

I got cast in GnS’s The Mikado and I have started rehearsals for that. Thus far, its been pretty darn good.
I have a handle on all my classes so far too, which quite surprising, considering i usually come back slacking because of Post Summer Depression (a play on words, summer = partum, its something to do with being preggers).

Oh, so a new batch of freshmen have arrived on campus, and for the most part, I enjoy them. In the theatre department, we have little brothers and sisters. I’m proud to say, i have two little sisters that I love. Its reminiscent of my two big sisters

(Colleen and Sarah)

Also, we had the 2nd Annual Junior Cabaret! As a junior, I must say we did a wonderful job! The Junior Boys performed “OMIGOD” from Legally Blonde the Musical. We were great! Here’s a snip-it from the rehearsal process.

you know you love me, XOXO,
Peter Lam

PS: I watched Gossip Girl all week and my final tag there was an homage to it.
